The Fourth Anniversary of Russian Troops’ Full-Scale Invasion of Ukraine Is Approaching

At the beginning of this war, many experts predicted a quick defeat for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but today everyone knows that they were wrong.

However, there were also those who had no illusions about the combat capability of the Russian army and warned the government of the RF against this adventure.

The most prominent and authoritative critic of Putin’s aggressive policy at the time was retired Russian Colonel General Leonid Ivashov, who back in January 2022 stated that Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine would end in defeat and have catastrophic consequences for the RF.

Today, General Ivashov’s predictions are beginning to come true.

Russians and Ukrainians have become enemies for decades, if not for centuries. Russia has found itself in international isolation, while NATO’s borders have expanded significantly following the accession of Finland and Sweden to the Organization.

Everything is moving towards Ukraine’s joining a common system of the European Security.

This is a logical development, since Russia itself started an unprovoked war against Ukraine, which significantly sped up the process of its integration into the military-political and economic space of the West.

And what could Russia offer Ukraine?

Its economy is destroyed. Education, science, and medicine are backward. Culture is in decline. Its ideology is no different from that of modern American “developers” who use state power only for their own benefit and personal enrichment. This is probably why Putin’s representative Dmitriev and Trump’s representative Witkoff quickly found common ground and are trying to conclude an agreement that is mutually beneficial to their clans, contrary to public interests and the norms of international law.

Leonid Ivashov characterizes Russia’s current socio-political system as a “regime of profiteers” who care only about their own interests and are completely indifferent to the interests of the state.

How long can the Russian Federation continue to exist in this state?

Most likely, the war with Ukraine will have catastrophic consequences for the RF, and all of General Ivashov’s predictions will come true.

In the near future, we should expect the decline and complete collapse of the world’s largest country in terms of territory, which will inevitably lead to global economic and socio-political changes, which in turn will require a significant restructuring of the system of international relations and law, as well as new approaches to resolving regional and global security problems.
