“Russia Has Provoked a Nuclear Arms Race, and the USA Is Responding to This Challenge.”
President of the Institute for Global Politics Oleh Bereziuk on First National Channel’s “Public Television”
President of the Institute for Global Politics Oleh Bereziuk was invited to participate in a live broadcast on First National’s news program “Public Television: Studio”, where most pressing issues in contemporary international politics were discussed. This is not the first time in the last week that he communicated with media representatives, during which he had the opportunity to present his vision of the directions of geopolitical development, predict further world events, and draw appropriate conclusions. Answering the questions from journalists Mykyta Chybar and Olha Herych, he touched upon the issue of new nuclear tests by Russia and the United States, which is a consequence of the nuclear arms race provoked by Russia, based on its constant intimidation of the USA and the West with the possible use of such weapons.
“It is clear that Russia has provoked a nuclear arms race, and the United States is responding to this challenge. Today, we see the USA modernizing and improving its nuclear capabilities in response to the challenges and threats that continue to come from Russia, China, and North Korea,” emphasized Oleh Bereziuk.
He also rightly pointed out that “… Nuclear weapons are first of all weapons of deterrence. But it was Russia who began to use its “Poseidon”, “Burevestnik”, and “Oreshnik” in an attempt to threaten the world with nuclear weapons. Most likely, these are special information measures, that is, a kind of psychological operation aimed at intimidating the West. But the United States was forced to respond and respond adequately to this. While Russia tries to behave inappropriately in the current situation, trying to intimidate with the use of nuclear weapons, Donald Trump is demonstrating that they have something to respond with”.
According to President of the Institute for Global Politics Oleh Bereziuk, when it comes to the United States, the United Kingdom, and France as Western nuclear powers, it can be said unequivocally that their power is significantly greater than that of Russia and its allies combined.
However, due to technical problems in communication with the studio, it was not possible to cover all the relevant issues. The full interview is available on our website.
