Today, one of the priority areas of Ukrainian foreign policy is Africa<\/h1>\n

During the Soviet era, many African students studied in Ukraine, and Ukrainian specialists assisted African countries in developing their economies after their liberation from colonial dependence.<\/p>\n

Even today Ukraine has significant scientific and technical potential and has a lot to offer to its African partners.<\/p>\n

Undoubtedly, the development of Ukrainian-African relations was negatively affected by Russia’s unprovoked armed aggression against Ukraine in February 2022, but Ukrainians stood their ground and once again confirmed their subjectivity in the sphere of international politics.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>At the same time, apart from the Russian invasion, there are other reasons preventing the normal development of Ukrainian-African relations. In particular, the fact that for quite a long time Ukraine has not had its trade missions abroad at the state level. Earlier, trade missions were part of diplomatic missions, but during Yanukovych’s presidency this institution was liquidated in Ukraine and it does not exist to this day. Under such circumstances, when there is no help from the state, it is very difficult for Ukrainian enterprises to compete with foreign companies on foreign markets, in particular with Russian and Chinese companies, to which their governments and foreign policy departments pay much attention.<\/p>\n

In order to somehow remedy this situation, a group of interested parties created two non-profit public organizations \u201cUkrainian Trade and Economic Mission\u201d, abbreviated as UTEM and \u201cGlobal Policy Institute\u201d.<\/p>\n

The main task of UTEM is to promote the development of business activity of Ukrainian enterprises and promotion of their goods and services in foreign markets.<\/p>\n

The first representative office of this non-governmental organization was opened in the Republic of Senegal. Its head was Pap Meissa Diongue, a Senegalese businessman with an impeccable business reputation and considerable experience in consulting and insurance business.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The representative of the Global Policy Institute in Senegal is Gennady Ulyanich, who has been living in this country for many years and knows its specifics well.<\/p>\n

The main objectives of this non-governmental organization are to conduct fundamental and applied research in the field of international relations, global politics, public administration and law. Specialists of the Global Policy Institute analyze in real time the socio-political processes taking place in Ukraine and the world and provide possible forecasts of their development for the near, medium and long term. Acquaintance with an independent assessment of the political situation in this or that country should help managers at the appropriate level to make important managerial decisions in business or foreign policy.<\/p>\n

The Republic of Senegal was chosen to host the representative offices of two non-governmental Ukrainian organizations due to the fact that this country occupies a favorable geographical position and is one of the most developed, safe and politically stable in this region, which in the future may contribute to the expansion of the activities of the Ukrainian Trade and Economic Mission and the Institute of Global Policy to other states of West Africa.<\/p>\n

If properly organized, Ukraine has real chances to become one of the largest business partners of Senegal.<\/p>\n

Today Senegalese are interested in Ukrainian agricultural products, oil and gas production technologies, vehicles and aircraft, their repair and maintenance.<\/p>\n

Promising areas of Ukrainian-Senegalese cooperation are educational and medical services, particularly in the field of cardiology and ophthalmology, where Ukrainian doctors have long been performing operations at the level of the best world standards.<\/p>\n

For practical realization of trade and economic potential and expansion of Ukrainian-Senegalese business relations, the governments of these countries should create stable and fair conditions of activity in their domestic markets, which should contribute to their development and ensure socio-economic and political stability and predictability for a long period of time.<\/p>\n
