Ukraine is not engaged in nuclear terrorism, but if Russia carries out its threats of a nuclear strike, Ukraine has every capability to launch a mirror attack in response.
Oleh Bereziuk, director of the Institute for Global Politics, spoke about this on the program “Ukrainian Focus. Morning” on Slawa tv. He added that the Kremlin’s statements about a nuclear strike on Ukraine are nothing more than blackmail.
According to him, China, the USA and other leading global players, who understand the consequences of a nuclear strike on Ukraine, are aware of its implications, as well as what it could mean for Russia.
“Ukraine does not engage in nuclear terrorism. We have the capabilities, but we don’t even talk about it,” Bereziuk said.
As is known, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian propagandists outlined three possible military scenarios regarding the war against Ukraine: military stalemate or a protracted war – the most likely scenario; a negative outcome involving defeat or the collapse of the Kremlin regime; and a third option: escalation and a nuclear strike.
Bereziuk: Ukraine Should Go on the Offensive
he political analyst also stated that, in order to bring Russia to its knees, Ukraine needs to switch from a defensive strategy to an offensive one.
He assured that Kyiv has the capabilities to do so.
“For example, the Special Operations Forces have not even been used to 50% of their capacity. So far, the forces and resources of this branch of the military have been focused on defense,” said Bereziuk.
He concluded that if the Ukrainian Army switches its strategy from defense to offensive, Moscow could be dealt much greater damage than is currently the case.
