Excerpts from the Speech by Andrii BUZAROV, political analyst, co-founder of the KYIVSTRATPRO analytical group, doctoral student at the I. F. Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, candidate of philosophical sciences, at the roundtable of the Institute for Global Politics “Problems and Prospects for Creating a New European Security System in the Context of Russia’s Aggressive Foreign Policy” on December 11, 2025.
- “I don’t understand how European security can be built without the United States.
- The Americans are trying to build relations with Ukraine that would suit their interests.
- The United Kingdom is the main moderator of support for Ukraine.
- There are many questions to the European Union: European bureaucracy prevents us from building relations with Lithuania, Belgium, Sweden, and some other countries.
- As for NATO, we need to talk about deepening our partnership with NATO rather than membership.
- The issues of Ukraine’s strategy regarding the post-Soviet space remain relevant, but we have not ydefined them yet.
- We must achieve self-sufficiency, and the European Union, the European community are our partners.’’
